Andras Visky is Professor of Performance Studies at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj, Romania, and the Karoli Gaspar University of the Reformed Church (Budapest). He is a renowned dramaturg and playwright, too; his award-winning plays being internationally produced by theaters in Europe and the United States. His scholarly writings focus on rituality and contemporary theater, contemporary playwriting and dramaturgy, studies on writers’ oeuvres such as Imre Kertész, Samuel Beckett, or theater directors such as Silviu Purcarete, Mihai Maniutiu, and Gabor Tompa. As a visiting professor, he has taught or offered playwriting and dramaturgy workshops across the world, including Calvin University, the University of California San Diego, Korea National University of Arts, Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and Yale School of Drama. + 283 *
