- A kurzus – és a módszertani segédkönyv – célja a hallgatóság bevezetése és ismereteinek elmélyítése a lexikológia és a lexikográfia területén. Az alapvető lexikológiai és lexikográfiai ismereteken túl bemutatja azokat az elméleti kapcsolódási pontokat, amelyek megalapozzák a modern szótárkészítés és -használat kérdéseit.
A főbb témakörök: A lexikológia és a lexikográfia tárgya, intézményrendszere, helye a nyelvészeten belül. A legfontosabb alapfogalmak: szó, szókincs, szókészlet. A magyar szókészlet. Az alapszókincs. A szótár, lexikon fogalma. A szótárfogalom kialakulása. A szótárak típusai. A szótári szerkezet. Magyar értelmező szótárak. Számítógépes nyelvleírás, elektronikus szótárak. Online elérhető magyar szótárak és nyelvi adatbázisok.

- The purpose of the course - and the methodological handbook - is to introduce the students to and deepen their knowledge in the field of lexicology and lexicography. In addition to basic lexicological and lexicographical knowledge, it presents the theoretical connection points that underlie the issues of modern dictionary creation and use.
The main topics: Subject, institutional system, and place of lexicology and lexicography within linguistics. The most important basic concepts: word, vocabulary, lexicon. The Hungarian vocabulary. The basic vocabulary. The concept of vocabulary, lexicon, and dictionary. The development of the concept of dictionary. Types of dictionaries. The dictionary structure. Hungarian concise dictionaries. Computational linguistics, electronic dictionaries. Hungarian dictionaries and language databases available online.
