Tamas Dezs6 Ziegler
is Deputy Director and an Associate Professor at the Institute of Political
and International Studies in the Faculty of Social Sciences of Eötvös Loránd
University in Budapest, Hungary. He studied at Pázmány Péter Catholic
University and at Károli Gáspár University in Budapest, and at Széchenyi
István University in Győr, Hungary, as well as at the University of Aberdeen
in the United Kingdom. He was a Visiting Professor and Research Fellow at
the University of Bergen in Norway; Warwick University in Coventry, the
UK; the Northwestern Polytechnic University in Xian, China; Free University
Berlin in Germany; the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in Lausanne;
Fordham University School of Law in New York; the Max Planck Institute for
Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and the Max Planck
Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg,
Germany; and Cornell University in Ithaca, the US. His main areas of research
include European studies and EU law, including the interdisciplinary analysis
of public policy and political aspects of legislation, as well as international
business law and private international law.
