INTRODUCTION. HUNGARIAN TERMINOLOGY STRATEGY: PLANS AND FEASIBILITY me FÓRIS, ÁGOTA The Terminology and Communication Research Group (TERMIK)! of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Käroli Gäspär University ofthe Reformed Church in Hungary (KRE BTK) has been working on the general questions and foundations ofthe Hungarian terminology strategy for a decade and a half. One of the results of this work was the publication of a collection of studies, titled Terminolögiastrategiai kihivasok a magyar nyelvterületen [Challenges of terminology strategy in the Hungarian language area] in 2019.” The aim was to carry out the preparations for the Hungarian national terminology strategy aligned with international guidelines that included recommendations on medium-term tasks relevant to terminology strategy.’ Since such a plan requires broad collaboration and regular discussions, we have been working with other organizations and institutions on research and planning related to terminology strategy in the years after this. Since the idea of the Hungarian terminology strategy was first conceived, the following research projects, all supported by Karoli Gaspar University (KRE), should be highlighted: 1) the research grant between 2018 and 2021, supported by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of KRE, when the TERMIK research group began to study the fundamental questions and history of languages for specific purposes (LSPs) and terminology in Hungary,‘ 2) the Terminology and Communication Research Group (TERMIK), Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Käroli Gäspär University of the Reformed Church in Hungary. https://btk.kre.hu/ index.php/2015-12-05-09-31-20/kari-kutatocsoportok/824-terminologiai-kutatocsoport-termik. html (Retrieved: February 12, 2025.)
