The architectural design of the officials’ tombs does not show such consistency based
on which their high ranking status could unambiguously be determined. Observations
can mainly be made regarding the tombs in the Theban necropolis where the whole
structure of rock-tombs remained in contrast to the free standing superstructure of
several tombs in the Memphite necropolis, the mudbrick and limestone material of
which disappeared in the course of time due to their reuse in other constructions.
