- A teremtett világ védelme az egyház megközelítésében túlmutat a puszta praktikus kérdéseken. Ferenc pápa a Laudato si’ kezdetű enciklikában arra figyelmeztet, hogy a „mai helyzet gyökeréig” kell hatolni. Nem elég csak „a tüneteket” észlelni és azok kezelésére javaslatot tenni. Ez a kötet mélyfúrásokra tesz kísérletet az etika, a bölcselet, a vallástudomány és a jog találkozási területein. Ha nem is fedi le mindet, ráirányítja a figyelmet a kérdés összetettségére és a hosszú távú kutatások jelentőségére.
