HUNGARIAN TERMINOLOGY STRATEGY. PLANS AND FEASIBILITY The content of the book The present book, titled Hungarian terminology strategy. Plans and feasibility, contains papers on the topic of Hungarian terminology strategy published by three authors: Ägota Föris, Eszter B. Papp and Zoltan Somogyi. Three of these papers were originally published in 2019 and 2020, the others in 2024. As these papers were written with similar aims, topics and perspectives, we felt it was important to publish them together in a single volume, so everyone interested could find in one place the plans and analyses related to the objectives of the Hungarian terminology strategy and the creation of the national termbase. The volume is divided into two main parts and contains eleven studies. The first chapter, A terminológia és a terminológiastratégia kérdései [Questions of terminology and terminology strategy], contains six, and the second chapter A Magyar Nemzeti Terminológiai Adatbázis tervezése [Planning of the Hungarian National Terminology Database] contains five papers. Questions of terminology and terminology strategy The paper by Ágota Fóris, titled A magyar nyelv a tudományban. A terminológia helye, szerepe és feladatai [The Hungarian language in science. The place, role and tasks of terminology], was originally presented in 2017 at the meeting of the Hungarian Language in Science Presidential Committee of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and was published in 2019 in the journal Magyar Tudomány [Hungarian Science]. It outlines the characteristics of terminology and terminology strategy, the Hungarian institutional system of terminology and Hungarian terminology databases, it summarizes the urgent tasks of Hungarian terminologists, and finally, it discusses how not to deal with Hungarian terminology. Among the tasks for the near future, the paper lists creating a terminology portal and a terminology research group within the [HUN-REN] Research Centre for ° Mission of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. https://mta200.hu/mta200/az-akademiakuldetese-106350 (Retrieved: February 12, 2025.) “17°
