It is for such “post-Foucauldian” reasons that I am convinced that indidnosdi had a different and perhaps more complex meaning in socialist Hungary—and probably also in other socialist countries—than just another form of “hobbyism’, as it did in western Europe (e.g. in West Germany) or in the United States (Deloria 1998).
