ECOCIDE I would like to close this short foreword with a few lines of appreciation. Without the unfailing support of my family, especially my parents and husband, this book would still be a mere thought. They provided the space and the surroundings to work on my ideas. Now, my research outcomes and results are manifested in written form. I consider this book to be a beginning since, as is usual with such undertakings, there are more questions than answers. But as scholars, I believe this is our task. To generate thoughts, debate, and collect new inputs to form concepts, then to modify or even reject our previous standpoint. I recommend this book to all who are interested in international law, ecocide, or simply protecting our environment. Last but not least, I would like to thank the Pazmany Péter Catholic University for including me in the project that made it possible for this book to be published.
